How it works

Point, shoot, collect

No barcodes, no typing, no lookup tables. Just a photograph of a real car.

01

Spot something

A car park, a side street, a driveway you walk past every day. The good ones are already around you — most people just stopped noticing.

02

Take the shot

Fit the whole car in frame and press once. Car Hunt reads the light signature, grille, panel lines and wheels the way a spotter would.

03

Watch it land

Make, model, generation and specs come back in seconds, scored by rarity. Legendary finds get an entrance worth waiting for.

Scoring

Not every car is worth the same

Power, how many were built, market value and cultural weight. A tuned hatchback can outscore something far more expensive.

Shinies

Special editions are called out from visible evidence — a badge, a factory colour, the right wheels. They score far higher and carry a holographic finish in your garage.

Your map

Every find is pinned where you caught it, coloured by rarity. Your city slowly fills in as a record of where the good stuff hides.

Real specs

Power, torque, nought to sixty, production numbers and market value on every car — plus one genuinely interesting fact you didn't know.

Honest scoring

Confidence thresholds are fixed for everyone and partial cars are rejected outright. A garage means something because it can't be faked.

Questions

Before you ask

How does it identify a car?

You photograph a car and the app analyses the image, looking at the same details a knowledgeable spotter would: light signatures, grille shape, panel lines, wheel design and badging. It returns make, model and generation with a confidence figure attached.

Do I need an account?

No. You can play as a guest with a three-car garage. A free account raises that to twenty-five. Signing in takes a few seconds with Apple, Google or an emailed code.

What counts as a shiny?

A special edition of a car, identified from something actually visible — a badge, a factory colour, distinctive wheels or aero. A standard 911 and a GT3 RS are not the same find, and the app knows it.

Can I photograph the same car repeatedly?

You can, but it won't help. A car is identified by make, model and paint, so the same one gives you nothing after the first catch. A different colour of the same model does count separately.

Is it accurate?

Usually, and honestly so. Confidence is shown on every find, low-confidence results are rejected rather than guessed at, and partial cars are turned away. It is a game, not an appraisal — don't buy a car based on it.

What happens to my photos?

They're sent for identification and not stored by us afterwards. The photo itself stays on your phone as part of your garage. See the privacy policy for the detail.
