CAR HUNT

Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 August 2026

These terms cover your use of Car Hunt. By using the app you agree to them. They are short on purpose.

Who we are

Car Hunt is operated by David E., Winnipeg, Canada. Contact: thecarhuntapp@gmail.com.

What Car Hunt is

A game. You photograph cars you come across, the app tries to identify them, and they go into a personal collection with a score. That is the whole of it.

House rules

Car Hunt is played outdoors, near roads and moving vehicles. Pay attention to your surroundings. You are responsible for your own safety while using it.

Your account

You can play as a guest or create a free account. You are responsible for activity under your account. You can delete it at any time from Profile → Settings, and doing so erases your data permanently.

Your garage

Your collection is stored on your device. Deleting the app deletes it. We do not currently back it up, and cannot restore a garage that is gone.

Duplicates of a car you already own do not take a second bay. The same model in a different colour counts as a separate car.

Purchases

Car Hunt Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly or yearly. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.

Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID account settings. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund the period already paid for. Cars collected while subscribed stay in your garage — you simply cannot add new ones beyond the free limit.

Field Notes is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It unlocks detailed write-ups on the cars in your garage, generated when you open them, which means it needs a network connection to fetch new ones.

All purchases are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Identification is a best guess

Cars are identified by an AI model working from a photograph. It is usually right and sometimes wrong, particularly on obscure vehicles, unusual angles, and poor light. Specifications, values and production numbers are estimates.

Do not rely on anything Car Hunt tells you when buying, selling, insuring or valuing a vehicle. It is a game, not an appraisal.

Trademarks

Manufacturer names, model names and logos belong to their respective owners. Car Hunt uses them descriptively to identify vehicles. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any manufacturer.

Availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of Car Hunt. If we shut the service down we will give reasonable notice and, where a subscription is affected, deal with it fairly.

We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

No warranty

Car Hunt is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [YOUR PROVINCE/STATE, COUNTRY].

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will note it in the app. Continuing to use Car Hunt after a change means you accept it.
